Alternative living

Read the following text and answer the questions.

Sebastian lives in a collective near Bristol with eleven other people. He comes from Totnes, a small town in southwest England. He has always lived an alternative lifestyle. He used to live in a bus, travelling to festivals in summer and living on a traveller site near Bristol from autumn to spring. He gave up life on the road after he and his girlfriend, Judy, had a baby.

They didn't want to get married and live a normal conformist life, because they believe this materialistic society is sick and they didn't want to be a part of it. Sebastian works as a painter and decorator now. The people in the collective put most of their money together for food and to pay for the house. The collective has a small vegetarian café and an information library, which Sebastian and Judy sometimes work in.

*So many people are alone in this society. The collective is like a family. You never feel alone. There is always someone there to talk to and to help you, if you have a problem," he says. "If people work together they a stronger and happier."
